A note about cold pack shipping.

Cold pack shipping will now be optional instead of automatically added on to each order. You must choose the cold pack shipping item in the store and add it to the cart if you would like for your order to ship with a cold pack. For most orders with 1-3 products, sizes 2oz-16oz, one cold pack is fine. The price changes if your order includes a 32oz sized product. Please choose the appropriate option.

With cold pack shipping, this guarantees that your order will ship via USPS Priority Mail Service (the cost of the cold pack covers the increase in the shipping rate for Priority Mail as well as the cost of the cold pack) for a faster transit time to help minimize the amount of time your product is exposed to high temperatures to reduce the risk of melting.

All containers used for products have a pressure seal, so that when the closures are twisted on, the liner is fixed to the container to prevent leaking if melting were to occur.

Please note that orders will primarily ship during the summer on Mondays-Thursdays. I try to avoid shipping on Fridays as your order will more than likely sit over the weekend before going out for delivery that following Monday or Tuesday. If you are local or near Missouri where Priority Mail Service is 1-Day, your order may ship on a Friday.

Cold pack shipping is eligible on domestic orders only.

January 20, 2016

The current turn around time is still 7-10 business days. This does not include weekends or holidays. This turn around time will remain in effect through the busy season which typically ends in March.

October 1, 2015

Cold pack shipping has ended.

July 7, 2015

Custom orders for custom sizes of 32oz for products will no longer be an option. Products that are listed online with a size option of 32oz are the only products that will be available to purchase in this size. Other body care items that are carried up to 8oz can be custom ordered up to 16oz. Skincare items like the Neutralizing Butter for Oily Skin, Mango Moisture Butter for Face, etc. will not be available in any custom sizes. The only sizes listed online are the sizes that can be purchased for those items.

Local customers (MO) can pickup their orders from Mesa Home located at 2619 Cherokee St in St. Louis. To request local pickup, please send an email after or prior to placing your order or leave a note in the "note to seller" field when checking out on PayPal. Once the order is completed, the customer will be notified that it is available for pickup at Mesa Home. It is at that time the shipping fee will be refunded to the customer.

Customers who need to swap out or omit an ingredient due to allergies may do so. Please send an email or leave a note when checking out through PayPal requesting the change or omission. I will no longer honor any custom order requests for custom products to be made, i.e., I will not make a product that is not listed for sale on this website.

Cold pack shipping has resumed for the summer season. Cold pack shipping is eligible on domestic orders only. All orders eligible for cold pack shipping ship via USPS Priority Mail Service by default. International customers wanting expedited shipping must contact me before placing an order to make arrangements.

September 30, 2014

Cold pack shipping has ended for the summer season.

August 6, 2014

One of my main suppliers has stopped carrying an ingredient used to make the Double Agent Butter. I checked with two of my other suppliers and they no longer carry it as well. Seems it will no longer be manufactured. I am working to find an alternative way to make the Double Agent Butter using the same ingredients and keeping the quality the same. It may be a few weeks before this item is available again as I would need to rework the formula and eventually get new labels ordered because there will be a change. I apologize for the inconvenience!

May 31, 2014

Cold pack shipping has resumed for the summer. Cold pack shipping is offered on domestic orders only. International orders may request cold pack shipping, but please note that it is at an additional cost. During this time, all orders that qualify for cold pack shipping will automatically ship Priority Mail which is at a higher shipping rate. This will cover the cost for Priority Mail service and the cold pack. There are products that will not ship with a cold pack because they are not in danger of melting during transit. Those items are: Lady Belle Solid Perfume, Lady Belle Rollerball Perfume, Peppermint Mocha Lip Balm, Dous Te B&B Oil, Loc Lovin' Gellie and the Black Currant & Lavender Oil Cleanser.

If you have any additional questions about cold pack shipping that were not covered here, please email us.

October 5, 2013

Cold pack shipping has ended for the season. Orders placed on and after October 6th will not ship with a cold pack.

May 29, 2013

There are some important dates coming up. May 30th is the last day to place an order to ensure that it ships before I go on vacation June 7th. Also, if you are ordering something for Father's Day, you definitely need to place your order by the 30th. If you place your order after the 30th, I cannot guarantee that your order will ship before I go on vacation, meaning your wait time will be longer than 2 weeks before your order ships out.

On June 1st, I will resume cold pack shipping. For more information about this, please scroll down to the entry dated May 22, 2012. Cold pack shipping does not apply to international orders.

The shop will be closed June 10th-12th and reopening on the 13th. This is to give myself some days off from orders coming in while I am on vacation.

I will be on vacation and unavailable June 8th-16th. I will respond to all emails received on the 17th.

Any questions about these dates, please use the contact link at the top of the page.

March 19, 2013

Effective today, any returned packages due to incorrect address or information missing from the address will be subject to a fee (shipping rate) to resend the package to the customer. The customer will be given the option to pay for the shipping or opt for a refund to place the order again with the correct address. This will be dealt with case by case as there will be exceptions.

January 28, 2013

Vitamin E(preservative) is replacing the Optiphen once used in most products. Your label may still read "optiphen(preservative)," because I am using the labels I have left over. Please note that even though the label may read this, this ingredient is NOT in your product as of this date.

May 22, 2012

Please note that cold pack shipping will resume on May 23, 2012 for all U.S. orders. Cold pack shipping applies to all items except for the Dous Te Bath and Body Oil(all sizes). Cold pack shipping is not available for Canada or international orders.

Cold pack shipping is a flat rate price of $5.00. This covers the cost of bumping your order from a first-class shipping rate to priority. We cannot guarantee with this method that your butter will not melt, however, we hope that cutting the shipping time in half (in most cases), supplemented with the cold pack, that we are avoiding this from happening. In the case that your butter melts, just simply store your butter in the refrigerator to let it cool and get firm again. This process may cause your butter to crystallize, as most butters like shea or avocado butter are prone to do at times. This does not lessen the quality of your butter and it will emulsify in your hands like usual. Do expect some settling to occur if your butter melts.

All shipping will be tracked and the customer will be notified of when the order has shipped. We advise the customer to please take note of the estimated time of arrival to make sure the package is retrieved when it is delivered to avoid it from sitting in the high heat.

January 27, 2012

We've added Optiphen to our butters as a preservative. Optiphen (Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol) is a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative. Your label may or may not reflect this ingredient addition if your label was printed before this change was made (change effective 1/25/12).

Some information about price changes:
I have very loyal customers and I feel that it is only right that I explain some price changes to them. 2011 was not a great year for our country economically. Layoffs have been taking place for a while, and it finally hit me personally in September. Up until then, Belle Butters was a supplement to my income. Now, Belle Butters is 100% my earned income. Transitioning from being employed, working for an institution to working for yourself is pretty tough.

Over the summer, we saw gas prices sky rocket. The gas prices effected shipping rates, which are at the highest they've ever been. The drought in the Horn of Africa was something else that also effected prices and in this case, imported Shea butter. Shea butter increased in price during the summer and during one of the worst droughts Africa has ever experienced. At this time, I did not change the prices of items and ate up the cost. Unfortunately, the prices still have not come down, so some changes had to be made in order to continue functioning as a business.

Also, because of the unseasonably warm or unseasonably rainy seasons in some regions, certain essential oil and other oils, like lavender, have increased in price. The price of lavender (from a specific region that I use), tripled in price in one month due to a poor growing season. I can no longer afford to have it as a free scent option in the Premium Whipped Shea Butter, but it will remain as the essential oil used in the Mango Moisture Butter for Face and Neutralizing Butter for Oily Skin.

Lastly, I have to value my worth. Handmade takes a lot of time and work. Every once in a while, I have the help of a few friends and family members, but the bulk of the work, aside from making the product is also done by me. It was a reality check, to find that I was undervaluing myself. Without a full-time, regularly paying job with benefits to fall on, I have to make sure I take care of my health first and foremost. Independent business owners forego independent health insurance because of the cost. I do not have paid vacation/sick days and if I get hurt on the job, no worker's compensation. There was a lot I had not thought about after getting laid off, and I needed to make these changes sooner, but decided that it would be right to only do them at the start of the New Year. I wanted to give everyone a chance to be able to shop from me at the old prices during the holiday season.

Decisions like this are hard for any small business owner to make. I do hope you understand that this was a necessity and out of a need and not a want.

This pretty much sums it all up and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me personally, at mstashab@gmail.com.
